Well said Mr. Lee

Take a look at the exit polls coming out of the primaries thus far. Men are going for Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton. In California, men went for Obama, 51 percent to Clinton's 39 percent, according to the San Jose Mercury News. In South Carolina, 55 percent of men voted for Obama, with only 23 going for Clinton. (Edwards took the bulk of the rest.)

This is not about sexism. But try telling that to feminists Gloria Steinem and Erica Jong, who both recently wrote whiny op-eds about the urgency of voting for girl power now. I suspect the folks going for Obama are casting their votes for the undefined, middle-of-the-spectrum candidate. Although, according to National Journal, he is the most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate, he doesn't come off that way on the campaign trail: Obama sounds and looks conservative enough that even conservative pundits have had good things to say about him -- a fact that promises to be a detriment to those conservatives if he becomes the Democratic nominee.

Biting dog unlikely to change his ways

Question: I have a six-year-old purebred German shepherd. I have taken him to several obedience classes. One instructor wouldn't let him come back, and another said he had "issues."

He does not like strangers touching him, not even the vet. He will bite. He is also like this with other dogs. I have to put him away when people come to my house and I have to muzzle him. He has never growled or been aggressive with me.

I feel like the situation is hopeless and euthanasia is his only option. I have considered it many times because I feel he is dangerous.

Answer: Almost any dog can be trained. The problem is that no amount of training is going to change a dog's nature. You can't get a dog like yours to turn into Lassie and love all two-legged and four-legged creatures if it's not in his nature.

Some say plant prefers undocumented workers

Illegal immigrants say it's easy to get a job at House of Raeford Farms.

Of 52 current and former Hispanic workers at House of Raeford who spoke to The Charlotte Observer about their legal status, 42 said they were in the country illegally.

The company says it hires a high percentage of Hispanic workers. Company officials, though, say they don't hire illegal immigrants knowingly.

But five current and former House of Raeford supervisors and human resources administrators, including two who were involved in hiring, said some of the company's managers know they employ undocumented workers.

"If immigration came and looked at our files, they'd take half the plant," said Caitlyn Davis, a former Greenville plant human-resources employee.

Former Greenville supervisors said the company prefers undocumented workers because they are less likely to question working conditions for fear of losing their jobs or being deported.

Bone Mineral Content Continues To Increase In Obese Adolescents During ...

ScienceDaily (Feb. 7, 2008) — Obese teenagers who succeeded in losing weight in a year-long medically supervised weight control program also saw their bone mineral content increase over that period, say researchers from The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The finding was reassuring, because adolescence is a critical period for bone health in later life.

Rethinking Organics

Few things make you feel better about your health than eating organic fruits and veggies. A diet high in produce is commendable enough, but organic produce? That's a double dose of virtue. What's less clear is how much good that virtue does you. Are there real benefits to going organic? If so, are some organic fruits and vegetables better than others? And how do you choose?

One thing is certain: it's easier than ever to find organic produce. As demand for pesticide- and chemical-free foods has grown, the onetime niche product has gone mass market. Sometimes organic produce simply looks or tastes better, which for me is often reason enough to pay the higher price it may sell for. And sure, it makes sense to avoid pesticides as much as possible. At the same time, scientists have yet to document a definite, long-term negative effect of modern pesticides on our bodies, meaning that while organic foods do you no harm, they may not turn out to be as beneficial as you think.

Hip-Hop Rumors: The Game and Big Face - Brothers? 'Roids In Rap? Mad ...

You know I hate to see brother vs brother. So, I heard that Big Fase and The Game are now cool again. I cannot really verify how true or not this is, but the source is good. With that said, the source isn't Game or Fase. But, the rumor is, The Game simply showed up and let bygones be bygones after a prolonged feud. Now, I know that Big Fase had a posse or more lined up to do a DVD dissing Game. I wonder the status...

Also, The Game and Dr. Dre are expected to get back together on the LAX album. Nice. 2008 - its all great!

BOOTZ AND BUCKEEY

So, I heard Buckeey and Bootz of Flavor of Love fame were chilling in Columbus, OH drunk as hell! From what I understand, Buckeey even tumbled down a few stairs inebriated.

SFGate: Daily Dish

The "Laguna Beach" regular had been due to start a 60-day jail sentence for a September 2006 assault case last week, but a Los Angeles judge has delayed that to allow Wahler to go to rehab.

An unnamed relative tells People.com, "Jason's in rehab, and he's getting help. He's doing well, and he's going to be a new man.

"There was a deal made (with prosecutors)."

Wahler is in more trouble after reportedly hurling racial and homophobic abuse at police when he was arrested for punching a hotel security guard in Seattle last month.

Los Angeles City Attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan says, "His jail sentence has been suspended for now. But we'll be informing the court of Wahler's latest arrest in Seattle at his next progress report hearing on June 8."

The Seattle arrest was Wahler's fourth run-in with the law in nine months, after being accused of beating up a truck driver in Los Angeles in March.

Antioch to Close Main College

The connection between Acdemia and real-world practise were the thing. "Social Justice" as a pursuit became the thing as the times demanded it. Antioch, as an open institution that is/was very responsive to what is going on in the outside world, happened to be a very conducive institution to respond to these demands. But to claim it as a be all, end all of the College is, for me short-sighted. I, for one (almost literally it feels like), come at the College from the perspective of an artist (albeit a minor one that wil die obscure...hey, just like Mozart!). While I was there in the 70’s, under the aegis of two well-known avant-guard filmmakers, the film department was the place to be. But of course because of that "avant-garde" thing, no one except those of us who majored in film and a few other wise art majors really knew it.

Regionally cherished novelist Bahaa Taher is all a

Material gain was not our aim. We worked late past midnight for the sake of work itself," he says.

That spirit was everywhere at the time, he recalls. “I remember the story of an engineer working on the High Dam. He had to end his work for the day so a new shift would take over. But he did not want to stop, he was in tears as he begged his boss to let him keep working," he says.
