There are two types of TUEs, a standard TUE and an abbreviated TUE. N.B. Any applications for medical exemption made prior to the 1st June 2004 are no longer valid and need to be resubmitted on the correct forms. 2. When would a Player seek an abbreviated TUE? When a Player needs to use a Prohibited Substance as outlined in (a) or (b) below and has medical notification justifying the therapeutic necessity. WORK IN PROGRESS: Hamga's confidence growing Seven-foot freshman from ...
Sweat streaming down his face and exhaustion in his eyes, Beas Hamga took a needed break. This is his year off, technically, but he never has been so busy. With basketball practice, class and the weight room on his schedule, Hamga is working harder and making more progress than he imagined. "I can do so many things that I couldn't do when I first got here," the 7-foot freshman from Cameroon said Thursday after UNLV's practice at the Thomas & Mack Center. "I'm glad because I know that I'm really improving." In mid-October, when Hamga stepped on the floor for his first official workout with the Rebels, he was a different person in body and mind. He's stronger and in better shape now, not to mention much happier. .
Drought/deer disease may be related
A couple of things have captured the attention of Matt Knox, deer biologist for the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. One is the drought the other is the high amount of Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease in the deer herd. Knox wonders if the two are related, especially since HD is showing up in Virginia areas where it has been rare through the ages. Virginia is one of several states dealing with HD. Kentucky’s Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources recently announced it had documented 3,000 deer deaths this year due to HD. Wildlife officials in West Virginia say HD has spread to 15 counties. Paul Johansen, that state’s assistant wildlife chief, said he can’t remember seeing the disease so widespread, either in West Virginia or regionally.
India hold off nerves to enter final
New Delhi: India have reached the final of the Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia with a thrilling win over New Zealand in the first semi-final on Wednesday. In a rain-reduced match, India were set a revised target of 191 in 43 overs after New Zealand had made 205 for eight batting first. Despite being reduced to 139 for six at one stage, the Kiwis staged a fine recovery to cross the 200-run mark. Corey Anderson top scored with 70 from just 68 balls, while three Indians picked up a couple of wickets each. In response the Indian innings faltered briefly despite a half-century by opener Shreevats Goswami. But Saurabh Tiwary guided the team home with a calm 29. But it was captain Virat Kohli who led from the front with two wickets and a determined 43.

Congress did not approve a provision that allows foreign workers who were in the country on special visas last year to return, and this has left some circuses short of people to sell tickets, build rides and put up the big top. "Most Americans don't want to give up living in one place, having a house, to travel nine months a year," said Jim Judkins, who has worked in the circus industry for the past 32 years. This reminds me of a passage from The Circus Age by Janet M Davis, a very interesting book that presents the circus as a sort of crude confronting ground for Americans working out their liminal anxieties about social and demographic change: In 1924 a revised Immigrant Act enacted quotas that virtually halted immigration to the United States from southern and eastern Europe and Asia.
Francine Nijimbere: "My husband cut off my arms for having a girl"
She is now living in fear following her husband's release and has sought refuge with ADDF, an association based in Bujumbura, dealing with the protection of women's rights. She spoke to IRIN on 22 February: "In December [2007], the president announced a pardon for all inmates suffering from incurable diseases. I hear my husband was released on a false name; how can a criminal like him be pardoned? The head of state pardoned inmates suffering from incurable diseases but my husband was not ill. "I was married to his elder brother, who was a soldier. He died in 2000 five months after our wedding. However, I remained in the house as I waited for the end of the mourning period in order to return to my parents' home. My mother-in-law insisted I should not go to my parents since dowry had been paid.
