Wrapped like little stocking stuffers in colorful foil, protein bars beckon from the checkout stands at sports stores and nutrition centers. With flavors such as "S'mores" and "Cookies and Cream Caramel Crisp," and packed with as much as 30 grams of protein, they offer weightlifters and extreme athletes a siren song of rippling muscles in a gooey kid's bar. "Adding protein is an attempt to aid the person that's trying to manipulate their body composition," says Jeff Kotterman, a licensed sports nutritionist and director of the National Association of Sports Nutrition in San Diego. "This (is) for someone who wants to lose body fat and maintain muscle." .

Here, young people can hear heads of state from international cultures as well as local and national personalities, who expound on a myriad of issues. Students can confront, challenge, or question the speakers in an open forum. And so,Massachusetts Senator Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy, summer resident of Cape Cod in Hyannisport, was the first to kick off the celebrations on Friday evening, September 29, for a weekend of panel discussions. Standing ovation Looking like a cheerful, elder statesman, Senator Kennedy entered the Forum with his niece, Caroline Kennedy, to a standing reception from a suave and sophisticated audience. Every seat was taken. Most of the students were crowded into the bleachers on the second floor. This was their senator and they cheered. His answer came in the form of a "thumbs up" and by flashing his engaging smile.
New Rules of Breaking News, Beware of Embargoes
Providing them with early access to information allows news to bubble up, gaining credibility and momentum to the point where it attracts attention from traditional journalists. Bloggers have direct relations with people, your peers, and they thrive off of their participation. Skyview wrestlers defeat Soldotna
We're looking at just getting him good matches, the strongest competitors at a school that we can. When there's a kid that isn't 220 pounds and dropping down and super big, we'll bump him up," Gardner said. "Anytime you can wrestle tough competition, it's going to help you at the state tournament. He's ranked top two in the state but nothing's for sure. You've got to practice hard and wrestle the best kids in the state." He certainly did on Tuesday. Strieby, a senior who's also ranked second by akmat.org, trailed 2-1 in the first before Buffington took him down once more and again let him escape, making it 4-2 after two minutes. Following a Buffington reversal which extended his lead to five, Strieby had his hands locked behind him and was subsequently rolled onto his back as Buffington finished him off, pinning him in 3:47.
McCain's CPAC Suck-up
I don't want my 17-year-old son to have to pick tomatoes or make beds in Las Vegas." Has Rove accidentally ripped the mask off the vicious social inegalitarianism of Bush's immigration plan, as Mark Krikorian argues, or does a more benign interpretation of his comments save him? It's not like he hasn't said this sort of thing before, apparently. Indeed, his June, 2006 version makes the probable context of last week's remark quite clear--and Rove's not simply "saying that every parent wants their child to have a high-skilled, high-wage job," as the White House's damage control suggests. Here's the 2006 pitch: "Now frankly," Rove said during a riff on the temporary worker part of President Bush's immigration reform plan, "I don't want my kid digging ditches. I don't want my kid slinging tar.

LAST night after her uncontested "victory" in Florida, Hillary Clinton was introduced by... Alcee Hastings, removed from by the Senate in 1998 after impeachment from* in the House, under a heavy cloud of suspicion of bribery when he was a federal judge. (A bit of the colourful background here.) Bill Clinton pardoned Mr Hastings' alleged co-conspirator on his last day in office. Doesn't Ms Clinton have any slightly less dodgy-looking Floridian backers? Or if slightly suspect they must be, ones whose former associates had not been pardoned from federal prison by her husband? *[Correction: Mr Metcalph is correct. Extra! UIdaho Student Found Shot to Death
The hospital was in what appeared to be a somewhat residential area of Colfax, and it was not fenced-off. We did not see any "no trespassing" signs, and most of the entrances to the building were unlocked or even wide open. Inside was an absolute mess. It was clear we were far from the first to explore, as graffiti covered many of the walls. However, the worst mess came from the hospital staff and residents who left quite a few belongings behind. The hallways and rooms were littered with broken glass, peeled wallpaper, etc. We even found a case with trophies still in it, framed photos, and, in one room, several unopened packages of adult diapers. In a desk we found handwritten letters written by an elderly woman. In the main hallway of the first floor was an empty biohazard canister. .
