Eww! Double dipping just gross, study confirms

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Keep an eye on the salsa this Super Bowl Sunday: A researcher inspired by a famous “Seinfeld" episode has concluded that double dipping is just plain gross.

“That's like putting your whole mouth right in the dip!" George Costanza was admonished on the show after he dipped a chip twice at a wake. That's not too far off, said Clemson University professor Paul L. Dawson.

Last year the food microbiologist's undergraduate students examined the effects of double dipping using volunteers, wheat crackers and several sample dips. They found that three to six double dips transferred about 10,000 bacteria from an eater's mouth to the remaining dip sample.

The hierarchy of fines is based on the number of times an employer ...

With no immigration reform in sight, the move is the government's latest effort to block illegal workers' access to U.S. jobs, something that has at least one union in Oregon crying foul.

Felisa Hagins, the political director for Service Employees International Union Locals 503 and 49, said the decision makes companies the fall guys for a problem the government has sat on for years and failed to solve.

"We are not against employer sanctions, but this strategy is like painting the house when the roof is on fire," Hagins said. "This administration has tried to blame a lot of people for its own lack of immigration reform, and now employers are its next target."

A second rule is intended to encourage companies to more rigorously scrutinize workers, especially when discrepancies arise with Social Security numbers they use.

After 3 wins, Obama wins Maine, too

When i was in grade school the class stood up and faced the flag and put our hand over our heart and said the Pledge of Allegiance, and at very game we sang the National Anthem. But Burning the American Flag is soooooo Wrong, and Obama voted for it. That is an insult to very American.

Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Tour: 30 Days & 30 Nights ...

Vince Vaughn is a funny guy. Just ask him. And the thin line between self-regard and auto-eroticism gets obliterated very early on in this film that documents Vaughn and his show-biz buds on a 30-day tour. To hear Vaughn tell it in a series of local media interviews — each one more fatuous then the last — this flick ain't just some roving band of comedians dispensing dick jokes; rather, it's a sacred pilgrimage to the mystic heart of America.

When the star and his crew of comedy ham-and-eggers roll into Nashville for a gig at the hallowed Ryman auditorium, Vaughn has a near religious epiphany at the sight of Minnie Pearl's dressing room. Want more corn pone? Watch his breathless fawning over now-deceased Hee Haw star Buck Owens, who presents Vaughn his own engraved red-white-and-blue guitar, as if Owens were Arthur knighting Galahad.
